Mollie333
I thought i'd share some Recipes that i make for my chooks. The following is what i've been feeding to my broody. Weetabix & Yoghurt. This is pretty straight forward. 2 Weetabix per 4 hens, pour a teeny bit of water into the Weetabix and heat up in the microwave for 10/20 seconds depending on your microwave. (to get the weetabix softer) then pour a large pot of flavored yoghurt (i found that cranberry mullar light worked best) over the cereal. They loved this. Sweetcorn I feed this to broodys also, they love it. I buy Tinned Sweetcorn from tesco's, its naturally sweet so good for your chook. I put this in a little bowl (along with some of the sweetcorn water). They are big tins that i get. It will last one hen about 4 days. They didn't like this as much as the yoghurt and Weetabix. Mixed Corn Soaked in water. Pretty straight forward. Mixed poultry corn (a few handfulls) soaked in half a pint of water for around 6hours (i do this overnight) then poured in a little bowl with a bit of water. Broodys love this. Please share your 'Recipes' and what they like to eat.
dannablue
Tomato, Bokashi and Sunflower Seed Salad: 2 large tomatoes, sliced and chopped into small pieces. Add a handful of sunflower seed and a couple of teaspoons of bokashi bran and mix. An alternative is I add sultanas instead of sunflower seeds which they equally enjoy. My girls love it! I give them this as a treat (not every day) so they eat the bokashi but have since found out they will eat the bran on its own anyway! Still do it as it is a nice treat for them Strawberry and Sultana Fruit Salad Cut up any slightly mushy or over ripe strawberries from latest punnet, add sultanas and serve in treat tub - they love it! hunkydoory
My old girls loved chopped banana and sultanas (must be sultanas - not currants, not sure why) but my new girlies walk away from it, they obviously do not have a refined enough pallet for tropical fruits
