prof
one of my orps is obese . she is soooo fat and lazy that she wants to be broody (but is too greedy and forgets) and be confined to the broody cage!(where she can brood and turn her head for her own personal snack without having to walk) When my older hens are free ranging with my babies, during the day, she can be found eating their growers pellets! Does anyone else have this problem? I think i may have to have a stair lift fitted to the soon
Daffodill
My Orpington is just the same- the up side to this is that if she gets out of the run I just have to rattle a pot of mealworms and she comes running- well when I say running those little legs have a bit of trouble propelling that sort of weight at any speed-but you can see the determination in her

ISCA
My too are young but they do like their food much more than the other girls I have noticed They are quite frisky on their legs though and rush around like mad things, so hopefullly work it all off. They may slow down in time though.
