Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

hi

I have a white hamster, who has always had a patch were fur never seemed be the same length as the rest

But recently another patch has appeared. She has been rubbing against the side of her cage. She is about a year and a half, is it mites or a sign of her getting on a bit.

Is there a home treatment or would vets be the best idea.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.
