Unsecure chicken perches

We've had our girls for approximately 6 or 7 weeks now, from the age of 15 weeks. Neither our Calder Ranger or Bluebelle have advanced combs, our Bluebelle especially. When will they start to lay? What should we look out for? Does everyone else always think that their girls will never lay like us?!

Their combs and wattles will get bigger and redder and when they are close to laying they will start to 'crouch' if you go near them or go to pick them up

 

They will probably lay somewhere between 22-26 weeks but you do get the odd one that keeps everyone waiting
