This will probably sound very daft but do you need to clip duck's toenails? We have 2 Indian Runner ducks, about 9 weeks old. They run / walk on slabs and in soil so I would think they will naturally stay short but just want to make sure.

I think if they get out enough they shouldn't need trimming. We've had ours (not runners) getting on 10 months now. They have never been trimmed and on the rare occassion that we pick one up they don't seem that long.

I'm not an expert or anything but I'd probably say that if the nails stay straight they're okay but if they start growing in a curve over to one side or start curling then you should do something about it We've had our two adult runners for a year and 3 months and haven't needed to trim theirs yet...
