shalloran
Hi, What a lovely summer we are having! Sadly, it's also meaning that my Eglu run is omitting all sorts of weird and wonderful smells. Is there anything I can do to stop the smell of chicken poo wafting across the garden during a family get-together? I clean the Eglu out regularly, but it's the poo they do in the run that seems to be the problem. The run is sitting on soil-was-grass and so the chooks just poo on that and tread it in. I could probably give it a good old s"Ooops, word censored!"e out with a spade, but the soil is so hard at the moment. Is there anything we could put in there that would help? Some bark chips or something like that? Any help much appreciated. No amount of Magic Trees are going to help here!
Egluntyne
Sprinkle some garden lime in the run after a good clear out and then put down fresh wood chippings. That will help enormously.
shalloran
Thank you so much. Got some lime and chippings at the weekend and it's made so much difference. Chookies are enjoying rummaging through the chippings too!
