Chuckyegg
Hi Just got my first(?!) Jersy Giant girl - do I need to make sure she gets lots of food to get really big or will she do that anyway?...... Odd question I know but I heard that they only become ' giant size' if fed lots and wasn't sure if it was true... My girls always have pellets available and get corn and treats will this do? thanks x
chickenanne
Don't know much about Jersey Giants, but am sure that feeding excessive amounts of "fattening up" food will not lead to a long and healthy life. I'd go for having appropriate pellets (growers pellets if she's the right age) available all the time (with occasional not-unhealthy treats if you like!) as being the best answer. Tiggy
sounds interesting, what are Jersey giants - any pics?
joza2210
I would feed her the same as the other girls ... Pellets then sometimes corn (Especially corn at night because it some how locks in heat )
Chuckyegg
Hi Thanks for your replies. That's what I'd thought too, she's on growers at the moment as she's only 14 wks, but thought I'd check. Haven't got any photos yet - she looks 'normal' size at the moment cos she's so young, but they grow to be 'huge' apparently - 10-13lbs! I'll let you know.
