Homes Needed - BHWT Northants 18/07/2010

Recommended Posts

Hi all

We have another rescue coming up on the 18th July and still have hens looking for homes. You don`t need to be based in Northants obviously, we have people from as far as Southampton travel for hens. The collection point is NN13.

If you would like more info or would like to register your interest please get in touch. You can email/pm me or Click

If you are thinking of getting a couple of additions or have space for more than a couple please consider these delightful little ladies :D

Hi, I already have my name down for this if it is the Nottingham one? I have asked for four. I would love to take more but I have an eglu classic with an extended run and don't think there would be enough room? I have never kept chickens before but believe the classic is for up to four. If it could fit 5 I would definitely take another. I think you all do an incredible job and I feel honoured to be able to give these girls a second chance.

I got my hens from the BHWT last weekend and had intended on getting 3, but my other half felt so sorry for them all that he came home with 4. They do seem fine in the Eglu, although I think one sleeps in the nest. I only have the standard run and I was unprepared for the size of the hens as I hadn't seen one before but for now mine are okay as even though technically they are a bit overcrowded it's still far more space than they had before. I do let mine out into the garden every day and am going to buy a much bigger set up very soon. Good luck with your hens :D
