Mercedes55
Not sure how long you have had your hens but it might be a good idea to find out what they were eating at the place you got them from. Some hens are fed the layers mash, but I think they then go onto the pellets as they get older. I give mine a mixture of mash, crumbs and pellets in the morning as they should be getting their main food first thing. In the afternoon I give treats like mixed corn and mealworm, but I think if you are wanting them to lay eggs you need to make sure they get the right food for that, which is the layers food
Redwing
How old are they? It normally goes 0-6 weeks - Chick crumb 6-approx 18 weeks - Growers pellets 18 weeks plus - layers pellets If they are under 18 weeks old then they need to be on growers pellets, layers has too much calcium in and growers has more protein so is the optimum feed for them
