Unsecure chicken perches

i have a hen with 2 3 day old chicks and 2 eggs waiting to hatch the hen has been pecking at her feet/toes and they are all bleeding i have cleaned her feed with warm salt water then rinsed them in clean warm water what else can i do for her i have just bought anti bacterial powder for chickens on ebay but thats not going to get here for a few days and advice will be gratefully received

Could it be scaly leg? Are the scales slightly raised?

 

You could try smothering the legs in vaseline. If the problem is scaly leg the vaseline will cover the legs and smother the mite, killing it off (it will need to be repeated daily for a few days). Even if not scaly leg, I'm sure it wouldn't do any harm.

fab will do that when she is sleepy this evening as vaseline will also stop the bleeding brill find my vaseline asap

flueys feet look a little better this evening been putting vaseline on her feet several times today they have stop bleeding and dont look raw
