ejaym39
Thank you for all your replys and concern. We have now got over the shock of last night a little. I Have taken two of my remaining ladies to the vets, (2 is all i can fit in the cat basket) and the vet was lovely with them, she even got them out of the basket to have a look which the last vet didn't do. They do have a bit of the sniffles, but I already knew that and although it doesn't look like the serious sniffle infection they had before, the vet has given me anti biotics just to be safe. I had been using the grapefruit seed oil which helped a little but will use the harder stuff just to try and clear it all up. I had telephoned the vets earlier to ask if they would send Maggie off in their wildlife cremation bag as I didn't want to put her out for the rubbish or start a chicken graveyard in the garden, and she said she would but when I left Maggie there tonight the vet did ask if I minded her "having a look at Maggie" and I agreed if she promised to let me know if she found anything which may have left to her unpleasant demise. So Maggie is now helping all other chickens in her own special way. Our garden looks quite empty now with just one less chicken and I forgot she had gone tonight and spent time looking for my missing chicken before I realised.
