I give my quails live mealworms and they go nuts over them. I know you shouldn't give more then 5 or so mealworms per quail, however I just chuck a load into the run and let them fight for them. I do notice the dominant female would eat more then 5 mealworms.. maybe even 8-10! leaving the less dominant ones with 2 or sometimes none! Do i feed them individually?? I'm worried my greedy female will get stomach upsets!!

Ive only just started giving mine mealworm. I'm afraid I just gently drop them one at a time at each quails feet! They seem a bit fazed by them to be honest. They do manage to eat them, but it takes a bit of time. (I know that doens't answer your question at all - sorry )

haha! Well i decided to put loads down.. greedy female manages to stuff herself and leave the rest.. i do notice that it takes about 8-10 worms per quail before they are full. I think I've overfed them but i only give them it every 3 days now as they are so greedy

Milly, Molly and Clarence have now taken meal worm from my hand . Mandy is a shy little soul.

She will take mealworm from me, but only if Clarence passes it to her

I do find that mealworms tend to get the attention of the shyest quail... they must taste dam good
