madchickenlady
I have two chicks hatched in my little incy, one just about to and one pipped egg. The chicks that have hatched are panting, so I think too hot. One is fluffed up, but one is still a bit damp. What should I do? My brooder is ready to go
Roobaloo
What's the temp at? How long has it been hatched? Could it just be exhausted? I would be worried about opening the incy with damp and hatching chicks...but then, I'm a complete novice!!
madchickenlady
Temp running as normal, humidity now at 65%
Roobaloo
Hopefully someone with more experience will come along soon...in the meantime, I would leave them there and keep an eye on them for now.
madchickenlady
Yes, the third chick is very vocal and annoying the other two at the moment
madchickenlady
Have moved first 3 chicks in to brooder, and they are happily wobbling about and pecking the walls I ummed and aahed about it, but they were trying to jump out of the incy They were panting like mad, and all of them drank when I dipped their beaks in the drinker. Fourth egg is not doing much, but I have my fingers crossed
Lewis
Congrats I'd have left them till they were fluffy, and opening the incy will release the humidity. Good luck with the other egg
