Stedic
Hi everyone, I'm starting to draw up a few plans for a walk in run. I think I can fit in 12ft x 6ft, so I think about 6 chickens would be right? I've got an Eglu classic at the moment for two girls so my rough idea would be to section off a part of the WIR for introductions and then maybe add three more girls. I guess 5 won't be happy in an Eglu, so perhaps a second one would be required? Does this cause any confusion for the girls once they're integrated, or do they just pick their favourite and all spread out a bit? Does having one elevated above the other help this or make it worse? Thanks, Steve
Minnie&Moose
We had 5 chickens (including one large Sussex Star) sleeping in an eglu classic for quite a few months - they had access to 2 eglus but all chose to sleep in one together. And most recently, when introducing 2 new chickens to 3, the 3 older ones opted to abandon their cube in favour of joining the 2 newbies in the eglu So you may find 1 eglu is big enough for 5, providing their run space is adequate. Egluntyne
Why not go for a cube, and keep an Eglu for back up/emergencies?
