mummy cluck
After seeing some lovely girls at the kent show last weekend......my lovely hubby was well up for getting me some more . His hobby is his car ...subaru P1 impreza and the chickens are my hobby although he likes the chickens much more than he would admit and i love his car . Anyway we went to see Ben at hen house poultry on sunday to get 4 new girls. Well we and came away with 6 . We got 2 fenning blacks 2 heritage skylines 1 fenning coucou and 1 medlesham blue . all beautiful birds. We put them in the hen house on their own until dusk then let my other girls in.....the fun began the next morning the noise was awful my other 9 girls really objected to them being there. Anyway this morning things seem much calmer although the new girls are not venturing out of the house yet but the calmness of the other girls i see as progress???? Anyway will have to go through this all again when i reintroduce my broody hen and her new chick in a few weeks times.....but i guess that will be another story. chicken bark
How wonderful getting so many new girls. I think most people would advocate isolating the new girls first and a more gradual introduction BUT if it has worked for you then that is fine. Hope they soon get the pecking order sorted out. Picture please.
