lillybettybabs
My Fran has been a slow developer, She has just started to lay but she will lay two sofies at a time or one thin shell and one unshelled egg. I have stopped them free ranging but it is still happening (over a month now). Should she sort herself out or is there something i can do to help her?. chickencam
She will probably sort herself out in time, it can sometimes take a while for them to get their laying equipment just right. This happened to my White Star at first, she then went on to lay a perfect egg every single day for nearly 18 months. Just make sure that she is eating enough pellets and that grit is always available and she should be fine.
littlehenny
I would try limestone flour added to their pellets. My hens all laid fine for ages and then suddenly I started getting softies. I added limestone flour (bought from an equestrian place) and the problem sorted itself out really quickly
lillybettybabs
She has been on limestone flour for a month now to now affcet, I have taken her off it as i'm not sure if that could be causing it.
Chucky Mama
Try a little Zolcal D3 in water or food. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Cut out all treats and feed pellets or mash only. You could perhaps also stop her free ranging or restrict it for a few days.
kevf1
i had similar with one of my warrens... chnaged to mash as it was eaiser to add limeflour.. both of the girls love it and get eggs sorted no problems.. also add bokshai bran to it and vermex once a month seems to sort out the worming problem... i just feed them mash now as they seem to like it..
