vaksy
Hi, I have a Hen of 20 weeks (not laying yet) and she has a problem with her eyes, they have got what looks like saliva bubbles in the corner nearest her beak on both eyes. She is eating, drinking, pecking as normal and seems ok. What could this be and what can i do to help her... Many Thanks Worried Chicken Owner... Chucky Mama
I'd pop her along to the vets in case it is mycoplasma. What is her breathing like?

Mollie333
Any coughing, sneezing? Take her down to the vets. When Jon my Hen had this it was just a cold and ended in a weeks time with some general antibiotics.
amc
Hi, is this a new hen recently introduced? If it is it could well have brought mycroplasma with it and as suggested would definitely recommend vet and soluble antibiotic for all the flock. Does she have a bit of a rattly chest and musty smell too?
coco
One of my young hens was getting bubbles in her eyes, her and the other hen she is with both had colds. I'd take her to the vet for antibiotics as a lowered immune system can lead to further problems.
vaksy
Thank you for your replies. The hen is as old the others and came from the same place. This morning she seems fine, the eys have cleared up and she seems very happy, could this just have been a bit of a cold? I will keep my eye on her and see if it changes. Many Thanks
