Blue-DiamondChick07
Will I see anything after 48 hours if I candle? I'm really impatient! I know I only have to wait until next sunday, but wondered if signs of life were visable earlier? The farmer wasn't 100% that they were fertile... Roobaloo
I was advised not to candle until after day 6, definitely not before day 4... ...only, I already had. You could see early development, not much though...but as none of my twelve eggs hatched (many died early) I would never candled before day 6 again. It may have had no effect but it's not worth the risk. Good luck with yours!!
Redwing
i candle at day 4 but only because I know exactly what i am looking for - it takes a confidence to bin eggs at that stage if you see nothing so you end up candling a few days later to be sure and I dont think too much candling is very good for eggs in the early days You'd be best to wait for day 6 or 7 Candle again at day
Blue-DiamondChick07
Its day 6 tomorrow if I see nothing at all, would you say its not fertile or dead at this stage?
Blue-DiamondChick07
They're fertile! I saw a little blob with bright red veins spidering from it.. Fingers crossed they hatch!!
