porthos
Hi I'm a newbie chicken owner of 5 Orpingtons and an Australorp that I got on July 4th. They were about 12-14 weeks old. I went out this morning to do their daily clean and noticed some white sticky runny dropping on the ground which one of the Orpingtons proceeded to eat !, any ideas or comments would be appreciated. I have had the odd brown/orange runny dropping from several of them since I got them and they all seem in good health. Thanks in advance
Jools
The white part is urates. Has it been particularly hot where you are? If she's been drinking a lot, it could explain it. If there are no other signs of something amiss, then I wouldn't worry unduly. Just enjoy chicken watching!
porthos
Hi. Thanks for the reply. My chooks all seem in good health, I will keep an eye on them and try to take a picture of the 'goo' should it appear again. Just waiting for the morning when the chooks start laying. - Pariba, Amber, Topaz, Oni - Druzy, Opal
