Egluntyne
I'd fence off their ranging area so that the rest of the garden remains poo free and smallchildrenworthy. Omlet netting will be ideal for this.
KateCooke
Thanks everyone for your advice. I have today build an area for the eglu and run with wood chip underneath. Would love a large WIR but as this is not possible i feel i have come to a compromise. I will also only let them roam the garden in the afternoon which will limit their poo's all over the garden. Feeling far happier about my hens now, plus i think i am just getting used to poo picking around the garden being part of my everyday routine. Now loving watching them without thinking "stop pooing again". Now once again a happy hen owner. Kate 4 bantams, light sussex, red hampton, wellsummer and wyndotte. No eggs yet but hopeful this week
