2charlies
Hello, I'm new. I have had my 3 chickens 7 weeks, bought as POL from Cooped Up, Surrey. Not one egg yet from any of them! One chicken has very runny sour poo which she has had for some time. Other than the runny poo she seems well, but she is a Bluebelle and she appears thinner than my Light Sussex and Speckeldy who are obviously thriving. 'Blue' was mad for her greens and would whizz across the garden with a chard leaf to get away from the others, but when the runny poo started, I have dropped the green treats and stick with layers pellets and a treat of corn and grit in the afternoon. Their run is not moveable and I am concerned about the poo on the dirt floor. Should I add some straw or something that I can clear out, rather than just the dirt? I have wormed them, and they were sold as fully vaccinated. I have checked lots of forum pages including the one with lots of chicken poo pics, but I am non the wiser. Can anyone offer any suggestions? I am wondering what I can do to stop the runny poo.
Egluntyne
I would keep her on just pellets and water for a few days until the squitts settle. They can often be associated with a move. I would consider putting something like Aubiose (a horse bedding) in the run.
Christian
I would second Aubiose in the run - Hemcore or Easibed are similar products. Try adding bokashi bran to their feed, that helps firm things up - as does probiotic yoghurt
