jam
Steve Mcqueen has decided that he doesnt like going to bed, and has a pecking frenzy at my feet (thank goodness for crocs!) and its almost impossible to pick him up and put him inside as he turns into an owl and can turn his head around surprisingly far. He's also being a bully towards Harry Houdini, the Millefleur cockerel, who hides in the house until steve has finished eating and at night shelters on a brick in the corner in the house to escape steve! I think its possibly because of the new serama pair which are in the garden near the boys coop, but I dont know what to do because I cant put the seramas in the back field because they are too good at flying and have proven that they can fly higher than 6ft. I was thinking of seperating the boys, but i dont like the idea of them being on their own. I was thinking of maybe getting some ex battery hens for steve as he's a colour cross, but do you think they would be too big for him? Guest
A programme a couple of weeks ago showed 2 bantam cockerels with a load of ex batt girls. If you can create a pen big enough get them a load of girls. Were they hatched together ?
jam
They were hatched together, but I havnt got a pen big enough to get them enough hens to share. Harry is a Millefleur and I was planning on getting him some Millefleur hens to make a breeding group and putting steve with a couple of ex batts.
