New hens not going into Eglu Go Up

Okay my WIR from Bay House Animal is up, and roof is just about on!

 

The run is 12 x 6 ft and I have ordered 5 chooks to pick up on Saturday.

 

Just been out to the run to chat to hubby who is still fixing the roof in the dark and rain!

 

My first preference was to have the cube outside the run, jutting in. Now having been out in the rain, I am wondering whether inside the run is preferable when it comes to cleaning out, as at least I would be dry, and the chooks can roam under the cube, so I guess they are not losing any real space, just a visual thing.

 

So my question is, cube in or out, or as I am just getting the 5 hens, should I just have bought the classic, as my run is not big enough for more than the 5 ladies anyway.

I think stick with the cube. If you have it in the WIR and then want to move it out (or the other way around) at least you know you can take it apart and get it through any door in your WIR.

 

Later you can have it outside with run extensions that butt onto your WIR and you can have more girls.
