Stedic
My chickens, as of yesterday, live in a WIR with a Cube inside it. I thought I'd put my dustbath (which they've so far ignored) under the Cube so it stays nice and dry - is this OK or do you think they'd prefer it out in the open where it might get wet? They B&Q play sand I bought for them seems a bit wet, even though its just come out of the bag. I've added some Stalosan (to dry it out) - do I need to add lots of Diatom to get it dusty enough for them? Not sure if they'll use it if its too clumpy. chicken bark
If you can manage it I'd add some Diatom and try to leave it somewhere to dry out a bit. Then do as you suggest and put it under the cube. By which time they will have dug a hole and made their own.
