chicken bark
I had read lots about ducks being a little difficult to get to bed. I've had my lovely 3 since Saturday and for the last two nights they have been in their coop when I've gone down to shut them in! I hope it stays this way although I suspect they may resist more once they discover the joys of paddling in the pool. I feel really lucky to have such good girls. They also had a little time free ranging with my chickens and that seemed to go smoothly (didn't care about each other) until one hen ate a little too much of the ducks food. The hen won the argument but I took that as my cue to call it and end for the first time together. I hadn't intended on FRing them for a few more days yet but the ducks found their own way past their temporary fence to get in with the hens. Blues08
My three went through a phase of going to bed by themselves, then with a bit of rain about there were far more interesting things going on in the garden, they still go with a little encouragement, beeping all the way!! chicken bark
As things have panned out most nights I go down and tell them 'Bedtime' and sort of herd them a little into their house. They are usually heading that way anyway so it is turning out much easier than anticipated. (Touch wood I've not jinxed it)
