Chicken Shirl Posted September 11, 2010 Share Posted September 11, 2010 Hello Debbie, the white is probably the new feathers coming through, they are covered with a white protective sheath. If you pick her up and examine her you will see thousands of new feathers coming through each one with the protective sheath. When she preens herself she will shed them.
