craftyhunnypie
How come whenever hubby gets 2 new girls, they always escape? Dot the magpie & Madge the Bovans Nira decided to take flight today & escaped out of their enclosure. Madge decided she would befriend the silkies in the back garden & was rather enjoying herself until human mummy arrived back from the Post office to find her! I was worried about her wandering with being pretty new & her laying her 1st egg only yesterday. So I caught her easy & put her in the spare empty red eglu & run. However, I could not catch Dot, who was having a great time scratching in ' the woods' at the side of our house. It's not really woods, just lots of trees & woodland type ground coverage. She then legged it round the back of the sheds & wedged herself between the netting & trellis and nextdoors boundary. Where she decided to enjoy a wonderful leafy woodland dustbath. Arrrgh! I just could not tempt her. The annoying thing was I had to go out & hubby wasn't due in for another half hour. I had to just leave her happily thinking..ha ha you can't catch me! When I got back, she was in the eglu with Madge. I asked hubby about her & he said she was standing outside the eglu looking at Madge! The little Minx! So they are both now in there. But they won't go bed into the eglu. Silly girls. I'm sure they will be quite safe in the eglu run & hopefully take themselves inside during the night. Wing clipping tomorrow. We don't like to clip wings usually - as we think that it gives them a chance to escape from any danger. However, these Houdini's need it!
