stephent
All of a sudden, our hens have been giving us dirty eggs. I am not sure if its poop or dirt from the run (its been raining alot). Our run is covered up pretty well, so its not that messy in there. If it is poop is there a way to avoid this? IE may give them something to keep the chickens clean? Charlottechicken
It's more than likely dirty feet. There's generally a clean egg, from the last hen who laid, and dirty ones that she stood on as she settled down to lay Do you have any hens who sleep in the nest box? Someone might be pooing in it. You can help stop runny bottoms by keeping them wormed regularly and making sure they don't have too many treats.
