Chucky Mama
I think that you have done the right thing by enforcing rest. The decison really is whether to give her a short period of rest and observation or to take her straight to the vet for examination and pain relief. If you can't feel any obvious break and there has been no accident that you are aware of you could rest her for 48 hours and see whether she improves. Move food and water close to her so that she doesn't have to move too far. You could try a cold compress on the thigh (bag of frozen peas - or any frozen veg for that matter ). If is doubt though, a trip to the vets will be required.
Chucky Mama
Re the cold compress (frozen peas) you would need to catch her and sit her wrapped securely in a towel or similar so that you could apply the cold compress to the hot part of her leg. Wrap the frozen bag of peas in a tea towel or something to make it more comfortable.
