Smart Feeder - Light sensor values

Dilbert crowed for the first time on wednesday morning- just a short crow, I only heard him because I was standing by him.I've been listening and we haven't heard him crow since ( think he knows he's for the pot if he's too noisy )

Anyway, we just got back from walking the dogs and were stood beside the run talking to the chooks when Dilbert flapped his way to the highest perch and treated us to a dozen crows in quick succession and then , to our absolute astonishment, Dandelion answered him! Just once, but it sounded like a crow. I'm trying to convince myself it was a long squawk, but have a horrible feeling the silkie we all thought was a girl is actually a boy ! Guess it's true what they say about silkies- you can't tell until they either crow or lay an egg I was just wondering last week when she would come into lay

I've just been over on Practical Poultry readiong about laying hens who crow fingers tightly crossed Dandelion is one.

I posted photos of her at 10 weeks old in the eggs and growers section,(most thought she was a girl ) I'll try to take some up to date ones later. Looking at 'her' this morning, she has got a bit of a tail on her. Oh dear.
