Forestchook
Hi, Within the next week or so I will hopefuly be getting my chooks . However the plan is one of these will be a cockerel. Now it may turn out that he makes too much noise and upsets the neighbours so he will have to go (but since he will get the chop if I don't take him I wanted to give him a chance). However, working on the assumption he's a good little boy I'm just wondering about feeding him. He will be okay on layers pellets like the girls won't he? I'm guessing he will because I can't see how anyone with a cockerel(s) could/would go to the trouble of giving him (or them) different rations. But if giving young hens layers instead of growers can be bad for them then would the same not be true for giving them to a boy? Or is it okay because he won't be growing like young hens would be? Sorry if I'm rambling a bit. Your thoughts would be appreciated. N
