Dolly
Due to continued feather plucking (yep, we've tried the lot!), Holly is now spending her non FR time in her own Eglu next to girls in the main WIR. She FRs with the others after work and weekends but with the nights drawing in, will be spending her nights in the Eglu alone - I'm worried about her being warm enough as she won't have the others to snuggle up to (mind you, they're still fairly bald themselves from her previous 'attacks'). I could lift in her and out of the main Eglu each evening /morning but that could become a bit of a pain. So the question is, will she be warm enough or am I worrying about nothing? (again! ) Thanks! BocBoc
I reckon she'll be fine. Chickens don't mind the cold - it's being damp they don't like. Stick some extra straw in the nesting box and shut the door - that'll help. Just make sure the droppings tray is clear (poops can harbour the damp) and the straw is clean.
