beach chick Posted October 27, 2010 Share Posted October 27, 2010 (no not for me, I can manage the wine just fine thank you! ) the girls are kicking all their aubiose into the drinkers in the run - so it sops up all the water and then they shout at me when I visit... I've tried lifting them up on a couple of bricks, but not much success. Can just use my existing drinkers (the plastic type, with a handle - you fill the bucket, and upend it) and lift them up a bit by hanging them from a chain from one of the crossbars on the roof? I cant think why not, but I notice people do sell 'special' hanging drinkers. got rid of my glugs because I could never get them clean, and the cube glug went ages ago because they didnt like it... Redwing Posted October 27, 2010 Share Posted October 27, 2010 If you are going to hand them then you do need a handle with a kink in it so that the drinker cant slide and end up uneven I use bungee cords to hang mine they do raise up as the drinker empties but as long as the chooks can reach them thats fine - I dont like chains because of the possibility of caught beaks or toes (mine arent bright chooks!)
