My first egg!!!!!! from Charlie

Recommended Posts

I got my first egg today, so exciting, I could barely believe it, was expecting it but still hard to believe my eyes. Was 42g. Charlie has been crouching for 8 days, and ive seen her check out the henhouse on one occasion, definitely got more vocal last 2 days. I've been checking about 2/3 times a day just out of habit. was out when it happened , just let the hens out to free range at 2pm and checked the egg port and there it was, I felt like a child on christmas morning! I've always been excited by the growth of my vegetables but you see them growing before your eyes , but an egg its not there one minute and then it is! feels like a miracle!

Congrats :D

Hope you did the egg dance!?

;)

Not sure what the egg dance is :D but i shouted really loud, all my neighbours must have heard me. Charlie laid on sat, not sun, mon, tues, not wed, and today. The eggs have been 42g, 46,46 and today a whopping 72g. The egg we have eaten so far is the tastiest ive ever had. 2 of the eggs are at my kids school/nursery as they wanted to show their teachers. ~Will be having a family omlette this weekend. Kipper started crouching yesterday so more eggs in 7-10 days. The amazement of finding a perfect egg is still with me and i dont think it will ever go away. I had my cat of 14 years put down yesterday with kidney disease, very sad but glad he's not feeling rotten anymore. A massive egg this morning twice the usual size cheered me up a bit. My other cat Molly who is Jess's sisteris looking a bit lost, i guess after 14 years with another cat she will be feeling lonely. I'm so glad i still have her and the 2 hens after a sad loss.
