chris_21
hi every one i am new on here and wondered if i could have some advice if possible i have just started to hatch my own chicks yesterday was the day that the eggs should of started hatching so far i have one that as hatched another one did hatch but sadly died about 2 minutes after hatching now i have 6 more in the incubator there is no sign of pipping at all i checked them this morning and 1 of the chicks in side of the eggs was pipping away so i placed the egg back thinking it will hatch but it as still not hatched i checked the same egg about 10 minutes ago and i carn't hear anything in side the egg does that mean that the egg won't hatch anymore and there as been no sign of pipping from the other 5 eggs the reason i'm asking this is my first chick is out of the incubator and in to a brooder he is sqeaking alot and quiet loudly and i think he is lonely and i want another friend for him/her. Redwing
Changes in humidity levels on hatching can cause problems so its worth just keeping the incubator shut (I know its tricky - sit on your hands!) and leaving the eggs to get on with it If they arent strong enough to hatch or make it then thats nature sadly, it can take hours for them to hatch after pipping though so dont be discouraged, they often go quiet as the rest from their efforts If any chicks hatch always leave them in the incubator until they are dry and fluffy
