Dizzy-Deb
Does anyone feed them to their chickens as a treat ? I have to admit the thought turns my stomach as I really cant stand them but if they are any good for the girls could get hubby to do it. meezers
Yep, mine have them as a treat when they're moulting or looking a bit under the weather. I buy them from the local angling shop , all tied up in a plastic bag.I store the bag in a plastic tub next to the WIR. I start out gingerly scooping them out with a yoghurt pot, but they are real escape artists. On the 2nd day when I open the bag they have wriggled out into the surrounding container, the chooks are shouting at me to hurry up ( they are on the other side of the wire from the container) so I give in and pick them up with my fingers I would only do it for the chooks
Dizzy-Deb
Ewwww the more I think about it i just dont think I can do it, pick wriggly maggots up... I cant even stand the sight of them. Think its a job for hubby definitely. Although cant say as I have a clue where to get any from round here. Think a bit of research is due.
