integratio

Recommended Posts

well last fri i bought 3 new chickens and a fter a bit of pecking they were quickly and successfully integrated with the original 4 then to complete my family I bought a lovely buff sussex Mon and again slipped her in with the others that night when asleep but yest morn they really went for her so i put her in a seperate area to the others. I noticed this morn that its only 2 who are attacking her and they are 2 of my originally so I have left the new chic (no name yet) in the outside run with the other 2 from the original 4 and also the other 3 new ones. So basically I have now put the 2 trouble makers in the inside run and the other 6 in the outside run. The 2 prisoners are not impressed but didnt think it was fair to keep the new one seperate when the others got on with her. I will try them all together later today? Have i don the wrong thing. Im hoping the 2 will calm down and settle n=better after a bit of timeout :)

I bet the two trouble makers were the middle ranking two in the foursome I've had the same type of thing with 2 of mine. one has pulled her head in the other one puts up with the newer girls most of the time just throws her wait about just to let them know she's the boss she's not but no one tells her that I'm hoping Boris my cockeral grows a backbone and puts her in her place sooner or later

try keeping the 2 on they're own for a couple of days then let them out with the rest to free range let them out after the rest but be prpared to put one or both back in the sin bin if blood is drawn otherwise just let them get on with it sometime thats the only option
