Bramble
Hello!! Well, I think my three ex-batts are really moulting, (well more like growing new feathers where their old ones would have been if they'd had any, if you know what I mean), they are actually starting to look quite presentable now. My question is, is moulting the reason they've stopped laying and will they start again or is it a winter thing, so I won't get any eggs 'til spring? I'm not too worried, eggs were always a bonus anyway, I'm just curious. Thanks
Snowy
At the moment all their energy is going into feather renewal. Sometimes they do start laying again once they have finished refeathering, but they may wait until spring. The older they are the longer it often takes for them to start again. You can help the process by supplementing their diet with extra protein which helps feather regrowth.
