Currently looking for a new hen house and completely confused by what is on offer - and one of my chook books says they should be level because of fighting to get the highest position. HELP! Space Chick Posted November 27, 2010 Share Posted November 27, 2010 I have perches at different levels in the WIR and it's never been an issue. However, most of the girls sleep in the cube not on perches, so don't know if it would make a difference at night. Often the new girls are on the highest perch but sometimes they're all mixed up. One night recently, we had 3 pairs of girls sleeping in different areas, each pair had one new girl and one old .
