bouldercroft
Last night was the girls coldest so far... It was -15C this morning but the temperature in the was a balmy -2C I'm amazed at the heat they produce and they seemed quite sprightly this morning when I let them out into the run. I just hope they can finish off their cracked corn & porridge before it re-freezes. I did dig out the bird bath heater to stop their water from freezing - I didn't get a chance to test it out so I'm hoping it works
meezers
-15 we had -11 here last week. I've been shutting the pop hole on the wooden coops and I'm amazed that it must be staying above freezing as the poo inside is not frozen The bird bath heater sounds a good idea, wonder if we can get hem over here- do you plug it in ? if so , where ? bouldercroft
I used a combination of these two products... The heater - http://www.khmfg.com/birdproducts/wild-bird/bird-bath-de-icer/ice-eliminator.html And a temperature activated on/off switch - http://www.farminnovators.com/page14.htm I'll let you know how it works this weekend...
