Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Hello,

 

Well at last we have had our first Brahma egg 2 days ago and another one today I had given up until spring, but they suprised me!

 

This is the first lot of chickens I have run with a cockerel and he is treading one of the hens on a regular basis (he has his favourite ) so to stop the eggs from fertilizing before eating them, Is it best to keep them in the fridge? I am terrified of getting an egg with an embryo in for my breakfast even eating these eggs has made me feel strange although I know how old they are

There won't be an embryo if the hens haven't brooded the eggs.

I wondered if they were kept on the side in my kitchen that they might start to develop

and convincing my FIL is going to be difficult as he already has stated the he isnt going to eat any eggs that have been interfered with! Suits me anyway!
