Eggs or broody?

Recommended Posts

Tiny Tim is becoming a woman!

We had a little bit of yolk (from Tim) in the coop a few weeks ago, so we guessed it was a softie/shell-free egg that everyone had tucked in to.

Tim has had an amazingly bright red comb and has been clucking much more like a grown up chicken for the past few days and is now in the nesting box. She was getting funny about the other chicks going in the house earlier (rain), now she's retreated in the nesting box.

She looks comfy and happy and her comb is still bright, eyes are bright too, but has been there for over 30 minutes now. She clucks to me when I check on her. Are we due an egg? And should I pick her up to check her bottom soon? I'm worried about disturbing her but I don't a stuck egg!
