sage
Betty (Ex batt) has had an empty crop on an evening for the last few days. She is eating & drinking during the day but just to be safe I give her tuna & sweetcorn before bed. The rest of the girls go to bed looking as if they have eaten footballs. She is alert and happy scratting in the garden during the day. poo's seem normal They were wormed in December. Any ideas please. sandyhas3chucks
Are you sure she is eating? Sometimes they just pretend (so to speak) Is she laying still? Are the others stopping her eating just before bed (even just by being fast and greedy? How big are her poos? How long have you had her? Sorry lots of questions
sage
Had her 9 months, had 2 eggs from her last week. She is top girl and still gives the others a good peck if they get in her way. Her poos are not as big as the others but still look Ok to me. She still claims the nesting box to sleep in and god help anyone who tries to sneek in to join her. I think I should send a sample went off for analysis Sage
sandyhas3chucks
hmmmm 2 eggs in a week is not a lot, I asked because when mine stop laying they eat less and drink very little(at this time of year anyway) Is her crop full at any other time in the day, her poos would be less if she is eating less (but your answer was not tiny!)
