Is my bantam laying bigger eggs than is good for her?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I know I need to change my login name as I have had 3 sussex bantams since September last year! We are really enjoying them and they have started laying eggs in the last month.

My question involves our white sussex bantam who lays eggs that are 48 grams, about 10 grams more than the other two. She has taken to laying in the eglu run and all her eggs, on the pointy bit of the egg has a half circle ridge mark which I don't know what is? is she having difficulty laying? I wormed the chooks about two weeks ago and there was no evidence of worms. The chooks bottoms are a bit dirty but the droppings are normal. I would be very grateful for any help and reassurance you can give me. Thank you. :D
