bouldercroft
Josie and Korma arrived in October at allegedly the same age - Korma has been laying since Jan 17th and but nothing from Josie. Now despite her major attitude which makes me think that she's 'too posh to push' there must be something biological kicking in soon? Are bantams smaller in size and slower in development too? Jools
Korma is a hybrid so will be a better layer than Josie anyway. Hybrids do usually come into lay earlier than pure breeds, but I've found that my bantams come into lay a little earlier than my big gals. So I suppose the answer is ..... whenever she's ready! bouldercroft
ohhhh yesss, she's made it clear since day one that she won't do anything until she is ready to... she's still quite noisy - and she doesn't crouch - so I guess she isn't ready yet... but those wattles are getting redder I'll keep optimistically checking
