Dolly
After losing Holly in November, we felt the time was right to get 2 more girls to introduce to our existing 2. Chose a Columbine and Columbian Blacktail last weekend from Newland Grange in Malvern (lovely place and lovely people btw) but owing to my recent hand operation and OH being away until this weekend, I have to wait until this weekend to collect them which is proving difficult!! We have a spare eglu to do slow and safe introductions but I have a question.... our existing 2 girls have the eglu to themselves and spread out in it, taking up more than half the roosting space but when the new girls eventually move in, will they happily 'squash' up to roost or will some poor girl end up as the draught excluder in the doorway?! Photos to follow later of course
Tweety
Hi Dolly, very exciting news about your new girls! Don't worry, they will eventually all squash up together in one eglu quite happily. There's plenty of room in the eglu for 4 hens of that size. Good luck - and don't forget those pics!
