SueChick Posted March 9, 2011 Share Posted March 9, 2011 (edited) Hi - I have been worried about a new hen delivered 2 days ago from Omlet. Her posture was a little head retracted and she occasionally yawned (no breathing problems). I was worried about crop impaction/gapeworm but maybe I have panicked a little early - how empty should their crops be in the morning because I have just felt it now and it's easily four times as big as it was this morning (it was the size of a golf ball this morning now nearly a tennis ball). So if it is back to golf ball tomorrow is that normal? Or should it be completely empty? She is eating/drinking/pooing but does have a slight drooping neck posture. I an worming here as a precaution as well but she actually laid today 2 days after I got her! Am I worrying unnecessarily? donald Posted March 9, 2011 Share Posted March 9, 2011 Hi Why dont you ring Omlet in the morning as I am sure they have their chickens welfare top of the list and will be able to advise you accordingly etc. I got 2 and the guy who delivered the thoroughly checked them over and told me some good husbandry tips as well.
