Catholicatheart
I used to have a trio of chickens in one little pen. They were perfectly healthy, always active and energetic. The cockerel had a stroke and a brain haemorrhage, he later died. Straight after this, I noticed one of the hens change in behaviour. Her behaviour got worse, two days later. She died. Then the last hen was alone, I was on the move trying to get some more chickens for her to be with. She died a day later. Is this due to mourning? Loneliness? Or just some sort of illness? Ideas please. The last two hens still had their food, and didn't show signs of illness.
jlo
I have no idea as to what may have caused all this but just wanted to send some hugs. Really sorry to hear about all this. I hope that someone else has some advice.
Chucky Mama
Sorry to hear your news. It sounds like an illness to me.
Egluntyne
Sorry to hear it. It sounds more like an illness to me too. I'd give everything a good scrub with something like Poultry shield, as a precaution, before you get more hens.
