My First Order

Recommended Posts

Well I've just placed my first order online with Omlet, the team are wonderful as I had to call due to an issue with the payment. They're so fast too as the ETA is Friday, wow this is great I can get the heavy stuff delivered right to my doorstep.:dance:

Sadly I can't afford a cube at the moment and I've been unable to find a second hand one near me that I could collect. :(

I have ordered organic chick starter crumb, auboise, some badges to keep the eldest happy till the chicks hatch. I personally couldn't resist the canvas shopping bag and the kids gift set. It's a pitty the gift set was only available in age 2-3yrs but when Caitlin grows out of it Andrew can have it and they can share the book and the puppet.

I'm not buying the coop until the chicks have hatched. They won't need it for a good few weeks after they hatch anyway and that gives me some time to make sure I am certain of what set up I want.

Of course you'll have to buy something else and I suppose it would be more economical to stock up on other items too and bring your order to £50+ to get free delivery again.

That's my excuse to my hubby anyway "I'm going to have to order this in the next week or so, so I'd be as well just ordering it just now and saving money on the postage." :D It works every time!

I'm really glad he's not a member of this forum.

I really am that sad! I'm excited about a delivery of chick crumbs! But it's going to make it all real and not feel like a dream anymore. I WILL have chicks in approx 11 days

Well part of my order arrived yesterday as per the delivery ETA the Auboise was missing :?

Guess what arrived this morning :?: The Auboise burst in several different places :!: What is it with couriers that couldn't give a toss about other peoples deliveries. Anyway it's still useable I'm just going to have to find some sort of container to put it in before I loose anymore of it. I have although emailed Omlet to let them know so they can put in a claim against the courier as it didn't arrive on time either.

On the plus side my other orders have arrived too. My 2 feed bins I ordered from Ebay, which look so tiny but 1 bin is big enough to hold 20kg of chick crumb :!: Woohoo. My 12ltr drinker and my 5kg galvanised feeder with rain hat. I don't know why I expected these to be small, I know how much 12ltrs of water is :? I guess my brain just doesn't work at times

Here's a pic of the supplies I have so far, please note that the 20kg Organic chick crumb is already in one of the blue drums.

Only nine days left till hatch and now that orders have started to arrive it's all becoming real. Soooooo eggcited.

I did a lot of hunting around for these and used so many differnt search phrases below are links to the 3 different feed drums he sells. I think the one that brought these up was "feed drum" or "food drum"

This is the single 30ltr (I have 2 of these). One drum will hold 20kg organic chick crumb bought from Omlet. I bought one for crumb/grower/layers and the other for mixed corn. We have a mouse problem here and I'd like to see the little beggers get into these :!::lol:

This is the single 60ltr.

This is the discounted 2 x 60ltr.

It can take about a week for the cheaper delivery but I didn't mind the wait.

I'm glad I could add something to the forum that's of use :D I do however, feel that I should be emailling this seller and asking for comission on referals

My problem is that I have OCD  everything has a place and everything should be in that place. The meds I'm on help with that thankfully I'm not as bad as I used to be. Having kids helps with that too.

I'll use cross stitch as my main example as it's the easiest to explain. All of my threads are wound perfectly onto bobbins, numbered and in storage boxes in numerical order. Food, now this ones a biggie with me. I cannot put open boxes/bags back in cupboards/fridge/freezer. Bags that can be clipped HAVE to be clipped before they are put back, boxes and bags that cannot be made air tight are decanted into clip lock storage containers and clearly labelled with contents and use by. I feel that if this is the extent that I will go to for my own food then why should my chickens be any different?

I know, I'm mental.

You are a girl after my own heart. I am very OCD especially when it comes to my animals. My DH is exactly the same but his excuse was that he was in the forces, you should see how neatly his T shirts are folded. I work in a hospital and a friend told me they were very happy I am OCD as they appreciate someone working in health care being OCD means that as a patient he can be confident he is getting excellent treatment :lol:

I will be sure to gtell the ebay seller who recommended his products to me. xx

I'm so glad I'm not the only one. Most of my friends think I'm nuts to the point I'm nicknamed Loopy Lorna

Ah..... if only I could get commision on products recommended. My friends say I'm looking for :?: I have this uncontrolable need find it for them at the best possible price :wall: I can't seem to stop myself from doing it either :wall::wall::wall: I think I just can't stand the thought of my friends being ripped off.
