tracyann
Well, this morning when I let the girls out, Daisy had laid a nice brown speckled egg, but at the back of the henhouse I spotted a soft shelled egg with no yolk. I believe it was laid either by Aggie or Becky the new girls, I suspect Becky as Aggie has been laying lovely eggs. The yolk was missing, the two of them were standing over it looking interested, would they have eaten the yolk? Am now a bit worried that they will become egg eaters if they have. I removed the egg and surrounding bedding. I don't think they have been getting much in the way of grit as Izzie's and Aggie's previous eggs have paper thin shells... Ain't Nobody Here
It may just be a blip. Keep an eye on it and if need be you could always add some calcium to their feed.
